On Sunday afternoon, Newcastle United's new chapter begins on the pitch at St James' Park, when the Magpies host Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

In the penultimate game of the Mike Ashley era, the hosts were defeated 2-1 by Wolverhampton Wanderers, while Spurs defeated Aston Villa 2-1.

Team News

Newcastle boss Bruce has revealed that only Martin Dubravka and Paul Dummett are out for this match, with everyone else, including Callum Wilson and Jamaal Lascelles, fit and ready to go.

With Lascelles back in the fold alongside Federico Fernandez and Ciaran Clark, the Magpies coach might revert to his five-man backline, while Joe Willock has been given the green light after going off early against Wolves.

Wilson should start with the unstoppable Allan Saint-Maximin up front against Spurs, with Miguel Almiron perhaps being rested owing to his late return from international duty.

Ryan Sessegnon and Steven Bergwijn of Tottenham Hotspur may be out for a bit longer, but the latter is close to returning, while Ben Davies has returned to training after an illness and Matt Doherty picked up a knock over the break.

The availability of South American foursome Cristian Romero, Giovani Lo Celso, Davinson Sanchez, and Emerson Royal has been questioned, but Spurs are said to be confident that all four will be in the squad after returning to the UK on Friday.

With Japhet Tanganga and Joe Rodon poised to gain from Spurs' defensive limitations this weekend, it's unclear whether any of the quartet will be fit to start.

Two positive coronavirus cases have been reported by the visitors prior of this match, however the identities of the COVID-positive duo have not been revealed.
